Petty Perform

Let's have a little show of defusing awkwardness in a formal setting!

"Wearing tight clothing often leads to discomfort. In such situations, people may resort to discreet and unappealing actions, such as adjusting their underwear for comfort. The inspiration behind the suiting fabric stems from gloves typically accompanying a formal suit, exuding an elegant demeanor and a sense of restraint. However, the silhouette disrupts this restraint with a more irregular and exaggerated approach. The movement of the hands reflects the transition from discomfort to adjustment. The design is intentionally unsuitable for the human body from the outset, causing discomfort. However, individuals can alleviate this discomfort through minor, albeit unsightly, movements."

"The statement of the tasks is changing but still the same expression of a combination of sense in fashion and now is more about pointing to the gloves exploration. It's a challenge for me to think about how to develop such a simple thing and find a supporting statement, and I decided to learn the technique of gloves first as I could get more ideas when I know more about making it. For now, my plan is going to be enlarging the pattern of different gloves and trying to apply it to the human body to find out a more specific idea that can be put forward. As we discussed during the presentation session, the statement could be related to surrealism and feminisation when we talk about the story behind the gloves or finger/hand gestures. By next time, I will try to focus more on colourations and fabrication via combining surrealism style and read some articles to define my statement more effectively."
